About Dr. Erin Kevern, DO
Dr. Erin M. Kevern, DO Otolaryngologist — Ear, Nose & Throat
Dr. Erin Kevern is a board-certified otolaryngologist serving the South Bend, Indiana area. She is board-certified in both otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery, bringing a broad, patient-centered approach to ear, nose, and throat care.
Dr. Kevern knew early on that she wanted to go into medicine — a love of science first sparked in her high school AP biology class. In medical school, she found her fit in otolaryngology, drawn to the intricate anatomy of the head and neck and the chance to treat problems of the ear, nose, and throat directly.
She treats the full spectrum of ENT conditions, with particular focus on thyroid and voice surgery, nasal and sinus surgery, and head and neck tumors. She also offers facial plastic surgery, ear tube placement and tonsillectomy for pediatric and adult patients, and Inspire implantation for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.
Having grown up in a small apple-farming community, Dr. Kevern brings a hometown sensibility to her practice — she connects easily with patients from all walks of life and treats every one of them like family. "I don't want them to feel like they're part of the system," she says. "I treat everyone as if they are family." Seeing her patients achieve positive outcomes is what she finds most rewarding about her work.
She earned her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at University of Michigan Health – West, becoming board-certified through the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology & Otolaryngology in 2019. Outside the office, Dr. Kevern is married with two children, and when she's not caring for patients, she can be found out on a run, traveling, or spending time with her family.
